The latest Penfolds Grange wine is usually released annually in May but this year will be released again in October just in time for Christmas gifts.
And the good news is experts predict the quality of the wine will not be affected in any way. “”A lot of commercial wine is consumed within 48 hours of purchase but that’s not always the case with premium and icon wines,” said James Halliday, a famous Australian wine critic. “People will drink them young and enjoy them this way because they’re top quality, but the wine will be better if they cellar them for another five to 10 years.”
But don’t get too worried about putting a Penfolds Grange wine in the cellar because the wine is considered one of the best red wine varities in the world, and proudly Australian made. Plus a lot of the Penfolds Grange wines have already spent 5 years or more in the cellar before hitting the shelves.
But its not cheap wine because the latest Penfolds 2009 vintage is selling for around $785 per bottle and a Penfolds Bin 389 from 2011 around $80 per bottle.
So from everyone at the Wine Of The Month Club we hope the new Penfolds Grange launch dates will help an Australian wine icon continue with incredible success in Australia and around the world.
